Greetings,
With Labor Day weekend upon us as the official end of summer, I want to remind you that the Second Annual Puget Sound Stringed Instrument Exhibit is a little more than a month away. It will be held on Saturday, October 4th from 12 noon to 6 PM and on Sunday, October 5th from 12 noon to 5 PM at the Renton Technical College. New for this year we have invited several luthier goods suppliers to participate. The show committee needs your help in several ways to make our annual showcase a big success.
We need volunteers! This can not be stressed enough! The six of us who have so far set up this show cannot do all the jobs necessary by themselves.
    Jobs that need volunteers:
    1. Volunteer Coordinators: this person would scheduling the general helpers, table sitters, etc. It would be best if there were two people for this position, one for each day.
    2. Stage Managers: again, one needed for each day, would assist performers during the one-half hour performing slots and generally make sure that the stage runs smoothly. We currently have one volunteer but need a second.
    2. General helpers: These are the jobs which on the day of the show would help things run smoothly, for example, door watchers who note that any instruments going in and out would have a identifying tag, etc.
Although many of you are hobbyist instrument builders who may not see your connection to this event, you do have a role. This show elevates the whole community of stringed instrument builders in the eyes of the public and extends the tradition of information sharing that is at the heart of the Seattle Luthiers existence. Participating as a volunteer provides a small amount of payback for the meetings that others have organized and you may have attended, enjoyed and from which you may have learned something. Please keep these thoughts in mind as you call to offer a little of your valuable time. With everyone helping, this show will again be a success!

Thanks
