Cat Fox and Jay Hargreaves will demonstrate and
explain their respective fretting techniques - one
quite traditional and the other definitely new age.

For first-time visitors: Gurian Instruments (5350 30th
Ave NW Seattle) is located on a barge near the Hiram
M. Chittenden Locks. From downtown Ballard, go west on
Market Street until the roadway jogs briefly to the
left. Just as it jogs back to the right, turn left
into the parking lot for the locks. Free parking is
available to the right (west); to the east, at the end
of the pay-for-parking lot, is a gate leading to the
pier. (Security is currently tight and we may have to
have someone stationed at the gate; call if you're
going to be late.)

Go through the gate, turn right when able and walk
toward the water. Dead ahead should be a large metal
building, actually the Gurian barge. There's no sign,
but the hull reads "110-17 Juneau AK." Up the
gangplank and through the door with the combination
lock (probably open). If you get lost, call (206) 467-7990.
